Everything starts with a dream. Our dream at AUSCI is a program we call = " CerdasBang!" (men-Cerdaskan Bangsa!).

We envision giving more Indonesia's children access to new reading materials, through the building of libraries (reading-rooms) in primary schools of Indonesia's impoverished areas.

CerdasBang!'s GOAL = build 50 libraries by 2015!

To carry out this program, AUSCI is working with Yayasan Padi Pratama (verified by "Give2Asia," an international organization focused on legitimate charitable foundations), and WIJABA (World Is Just A Book Away) for the first 22 libraries in Sidoarjo and Padang.

Click HERE for a complete list of 22 libraries.

Thanks to AUSCI's partnership with BNI (Bank Negara Indonesia), we are scheduled to complete CerdasBang! libraries # 22nd to 29th, by the end of 2012.

By the end of 2012, through its 29 libraries, AUSCI's CerdasBang! would have provided +/- 15,000 books to approximately 10,000 primary-school children in Sidoarjo (mud-stricken), Padang (earthquake-stricken), and the suburbs of Jogjakarta (earthquake/volcano eruption).

In a lot of cases, these young boys and girls would, for the first time in their lives (!), have access to NEW books to read, in a safe and bright environment.

Each book costs just $1, but it can forever change the life of a child. Each fully functional library costs anywhere from US$3,000-6,000 (depending on location and logistical issues), and one library can serve up to 400 children from the surrounding areas.

Individuals and/or Corporations who would like to "adopt" and "name" a new CerdasBang! library can certainly do so, as part of a tangible CSR program.

Let's support this program, together WE CAN and WILL make it happens.
